Wii crashes
This is the second time the game has frozen for me on Wii. The first time all I remember is that I was about to play Something, now this time when trying to exit an online game. grrr

Easter Eggs (real ones)
At the title screen enter the following colour code: Xbox/PS3:blue, yellow, orange, orange, orange, blue, blue, blue, yellow, orange. Wii: put in red instead of orange. This unlocks some photos to be viewed in Story Mode.

Also check out their reviews of individual albums. Average score is probably 9.9, which is unheard of for Pitchfork.

Remaster packaging oopsies
I noticed two flaws while examining all of my remastered stereo discs finally: One I had read elsewhere — the Magical Mystery Tour disc lists “Let It Be minidocumenary” as the last track. EMI - do you need a good editor? Cuz I’d be willing to come work in London for boarding. The second, and this one really pisses me off, the Revolver booklet’s cover was bent when...

The first four albums in stereo
The 1987 CDs of the first four albums were released in mono, so hearing stereo versions for the first time has been strange for me — especially the first two. I vocals are mixed more to the middle on AHDN and BFS, but the first two are vocals one side, instrument the other. What I love about the stereos so far is hearing individual instruments. Hearing solos better than before. Yes, I know...

Ok, now I really finished the Story
You have to leave the credits on (like 10 minutes, or so it felt) to get the Encore chapter, which is solely The End.

I made it to The End
But I didn’t get to play it. I played the whole story mode but The End is not in Story mode. It does make an abbreviated appearance in a new animation after you finish the last song on the last chapter (Get Back). Made my eyes well up. Now I’m listening to chatter over the credits. Are there any easter eggs?

Vocals on BRB
I noticed that the key or whatever changes sometimes for upcoming words, I’m guessing based on your last note. Is this normally how Rock Band works? I like it.

Incidental music
Does anyone know if the music that plays over reward screens is Bealte music? It sort of sounds like an outtake from Flying, but probably not. It’s really eerie sounding - I love it.

Budokan
Do the suits change based on what time you are playing the Budokan chapter? I know I’ve seen Taxman in the afternoon (white) suits, but right now they’re in the dark suits.

And one more thing...
No, it’s not Beatles on iTunes. Oh well. But we have a new and improved Beatles official site, including community features!

It is finished
Well, the buying anyway. Best Buy was a lot of fun this morning — I won a t-shirt from a local classic rock station because I knew exactly how many songs the Beatles released while they were together (214). Quite a few people were there by the time I left…all before the rest of the mall opened. I think I was on TV too. More to come…

Yoko slips that Beatles will be on iTunes tomorrow →
“Yoko Ono’s apparent slip of the tongue — telling Britain’s Sky News channel that the entire Beatles’ music catalog will be made available on Apple’s iTunes — was news. Then it wasn’t. It was gone, removed from the British TV’s Web site Tuesday faster than you could type “www.”“

Hear the differences between mono and stereo
The best friend I’ve never met, Bob Boilen, provides some key examples of the major differences between mono and stereo Beatles. Boy, She’s Leaving Home sounds like a different song, or a different take or something. But the biggest (loudest) difference is the early backwards guitar in I’m Only Sleeping on the mono. And it means a lot to me for Bob to recommend the stereo...

Happy 090909 Eve!
I’ve been waiting since later October 2008 for this. Luckily I have stuff to amuse me this evening, otherwise I’d go nuts. My agenda tomorrow is not exactly what I had in mind, but it’s what the fates have decreed for me. 8:00 - Best Buy at Mall of America to see their Beatles extravaganza and buy the stereo box set. 9:30 - I talked to the guy who is opening GameStop tomorrow...

Apple Corp iTunes business strategy →
Said Paul at some point: “If [digitised Beatles music] gets out, if one employee decides to take it home and wap it on to the internet, we would have the right to say, ‘Now you recompense us for that.’ And they’re scared of that.”

Another Beatles product available on 090909
A Hard Day’s Night on BluRay. “According to early reports, the video transfer seems to be the same video transfer as on the 2002 Miramax DVD, except that it is “bumped up” to high-def, and looks only slightly better. Also, the DVD extra features listed seem to be the same.” Yay?

Good news for Wii fans
According to this about.com reviewer… “Hooking up three microphones, two guitars and a drum kit to my Wii was a little tricky. Unlike the Guitar Hero games, which use the Wii’s own wireless remote connection, with the Rock Band games you must daisy chain a bunch of Rock Band USB receivers to the back of the Wii. It’s considerably more of a pain than the Guitar Hero method.” ...

More possible evidence of Beatles iTunes
From this WSJ article: “Apple Corps has been notable in not selling Beatles songs online as downloads. EMI declined to discuss Beatles downloads; Apple Corps didn’t respond to requests seeking comment. Many young music fans who primarily buy music online haven’t been buying the Beatles. CD sales have declined 54.7% in the last five years. Year-to-date CD album sales in late...
