Hear the differences between mono and stereo
The best friend I’ve never met, Bob Boilen, provides some key examples of the major differences between mono and stereo Beatles.
Boy, She’s Leaving Home sounds like a different song, or a different take or something. But the biggest (loudest) difference is the early backwards guitar in I’m Only Sleeping on the mono.
And it means a lot to me for Bob to recommend the stereo over the mono. If I could buy individual mono albums, I would. But I can’t, and I’m not rich. Or if Beatles Rock Band didn’t exist (god forbid) or it came out months later, I would have bought mono. Too clever by half, Apple.
